A guide on custom artworks
Hey! Are you after something super spesh? An original Pilar Basa for a special occasion or just for your wall cause you deserve it? Well then, let’s make something rad together! Perhaps a gift, a pet portrait or a future family heirloom. No matter what it’s for, I love working with people to create a custom artwork just for them. Let’s dooooo this.
Size: Custom artworks can be any size really, only limited by the largest piece of paper I can find. The smallest size I work with is A5 and the largest so far has been 1.1m x 1m.
Materials: I work primarily with gouache, acrylics & pigments markers on 300gsm Arches watercolour paper. All materials and mediums are of archival quality, but like any artwork, they require delicate handling and shelter away from moisture, sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Time: The time from our first chat, to your artwork being complete can vary. Artworks that are A5 sized might take 2 weeks once I start the final piece, whereas as something large A2 could take a month. I always endeavour to meet a specific deadline if the artwork is for a birthday or special occasion, although depending on the size of the piece and my schedule at the time this may not be possible. This is something we can discuss as we start our chat.
Pricing: Prices for artworks may vary. Things like size, subject matter, amount of elements in the artwork or number of sketches can all play a role in pricing an artwork. Below are general starting prices for different sized pieces:
A5 ($300+)
A4 ($500+)
A3 ($800+)
A2 ($1100+)
Themes: My work is more focused on natural scenes, botanicals, animals and still life. As I strive to be respectful, have integrity and be a good human in this life, there may be motifs or themes that I will not illustrate.
